Recommended by James Davis, Master of Wine – one of the most accomplished professionals in the wine business:
"Sophisticated and classic German Riesling. This wine combines bright fresh primary fruits of lime and tropical fruits with elegant minerality. Precise and bracing with the power and complexity to cut through smoked salmon or a rich fish pie. Equally great and enjoyable on its own as an aperitif".

Schloss Johannisberg is widely considered to be one of the most famed and historic estates in Germany, having first been founded as a wine-producing Benedictine Monastery in 1100. The estate changed hands many times over the following six centuries but it took its first step towards quality viticulture in 1720, when it was entirely replanted with Riesling vines. To this day, the notable Schloss Johannisberg winery, which overlooks Germany’s picturesque Rhine River, is synonymous with Riesling and makes some of the finest, most long-lived expressions of this noble grape variety.
