For the past 50 years, 3 generations of the Scott family have been cultivating some of California's finest vineyards and farmlands. Rutherford Ranch Winery and estate vineyards are certified sustainable by the California Sustainable Winegrowing Alliance. Their winemaking philosophies have been critically acclaimed, including best values from Robert Parker, Wine Enthusiast, Wine Spectator and Decanter Magazine. The winery is nestled on Napa Valley’s historic Silverado trail in the renowned Rutherford sub-appellation. Fruit is sourced from diverse micro-climates and select lots are joined to create elegant wines that show complexity which is the hallmark of Napa Valley’s extraordinary range of terroirs. Rutherford Ranch Winery was named California Sustainable Winery of the Year at the 2017 New York International Wine Competition and California Family Owned Winery of the Year at the same competition in 2019. The winery is Certified California Sustainable Winegrowing (CCSW) accredited and the Estate vineyards have various certification including CCSW, Fish Friendly Farming (FFF) and California Certified Organic Farmers (CCOF) certified. Non-invasive vineyard practices include natural predation, which limits insect spraying and animal damage with no negative environmental impact. The family is committed to energy and water conservation as well.
