Bodegas Navajas is a family winery that was founded in 1918 as Bodegas Arjona, but in 1983 became Bodegas Navajas after the Navajas family became the sole stock holders. The year 2000 was a turning point in the estate's history as they invested in enlarging their storage facilities, and in 2005 they reinvested in a new barrel-aging area resulting in a winery with the most modern facilities and a cellar equipped with state-of-the-art technology for the treatment and care of their wines. Navaja's family believe that the quality of the wine begins in the vineyards and for this reason they monitor their vineyards, both in La Riojas Alta and Baja with meticulous attention to detail, and care is taken at every stage of the wine-making process to produce classic, structure wines.
