95 Decanter Point Rioja. On the nose, the wine displays a remarkable balance between raisin and mature fruit aromas and those of spices and toast. Since release, the aromas have developed further, and aromas of leather, coffee beans and dried plums have started to show. The mouthfeel remains velvety-smooth and with a pleasantly long and fresh finish.
Accompany it with grilled red meat or game dishes , spicy and marinated fish, and aged cheese.

Bodegas Olarra is based in Logrono, in the heart of the Rioja DOCa and the highly-regarded sub-region of Rioja Alta. It is one of the foremost producers of Rioja wines. Founded in 1973, the bodega was specially designed by renowned architect Juan Antonio Ridruejo for the production and cellaring of wine - the barrel room roof alone features 111 hexagonal domes, arranged in a specific way to prevent sharp changes in temperature. Today, the winery produces a wide range of Riojas, from young wines all the way through to Gran Reserva and single-vineyard expressions.
The third generation of the Bodegas Olarra family is made up of three committed young winemakers whose memories, training and dedication are totally wrapped up in the production of great Rioja wines. Pedro Limousin Ucín is responsible for the area of sales, Marcial ZapkeUcín performs his duties in the area of administration and Luis LimousinUcín, together with Javier Martínez de Salinas (one of the best winemakers in Spain) makes the perfect tandem in the areas of 21st century viticulture and oenology.
