The Rueda Region is one of the best white producing areas in Spain. Just West of Ribera del Duero, it focuses on the Verdejo varietal which performs best in this classic continental climate with long cold winters, short springs and hot summers. One of Spain's highest quality white grape varieties, it is a native grape of in North-west Spain and is now its principal white grape variety. It is most successfully cultivated in high altitude vineyards where cool weather helps retain the freshness of flavours and its elegance.
