Miguel Escorihuela Gascón immigrated to Argentina from Spain in 1880. By 1884 he managed to buy 17 hectares of land and began the construction of Bodegas Escorihuela. After Miguel passed away in 1933 the winery continued under the control of his nephew and the people who started Don Miguel. In 1993 the iconic Nicolas Catena bought the company from Don Miguel and began to rebuild Escorihuela to make it one of the leading wineries again in Argentina.
This excellent wine is made bio-dynamically and is designed to express the terroir and perfect growing conditions of the high altitude Altamira sub region in the Uco Valley, Mendoza. This Malbec is full of concentration and complexity, and has spent at least 8 months ageing in French and American Oak barrels.
A vibrant purple red colour, with concentrated blackberry aromas with hints of vanilla. It has rich fruit flavours with a touch of sweet oak. Drink now or cellar for up to 15 years, it is the perfect match for strong cheeses or a spicy sausage casserole.more ↓ less ↑
