EXCEPTIONAL- 98 Points, Decanter Magazine

Winemaker Fiona Turner has worked with Matt Thomson on many of the most successful wines made in Marlborough. The tinpot hut that gave its name to Fiona’s brand is an old mustering hut in the remote hills between the Wairau and Awatere Valleys. The Tinpot Hut Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc is light lemon in colour, with youthful green lights and has lovely depth and intensity on the nose with hints of passion fruit and citrus. It has a characteristic Sauvignon pungency that is leavened by an attractive mineral character on both the nose and palate. Perfect with shellfish, try with clam linguine or Thai style crab cakes, as well as salads and lightly spiced chicken dishes.

“This is a flinty, dry and textural wine. A concentrated and poised amalgamation of complexity and style, effortlessly pure and well composed with nice phenolics and crisp acidity.” – 98 Points,  Melanie Brown, Decanter Magazine

“A broad Sauvignon Blanc with cut grass and subdued passion fruit flavours. This is quite a lively, energetic wine with a lengthy finish.”98 Points,  Bob Campbell MW, Decanter Magazine
“Classic herbal, grassy and fruity bouquet with flavours of fresh lemon and grapefruit, then red apple and some tropical fruit, vibrant acidity, refreshing, balanced and well made with decent length.”
98 Points,  Cameron Douglas MS, Decanter
