Producing its malt since 1833, the Glengoyne Distillery distils at a slower rate than any other malt whisky. The spirit is nursed through the stills at one third the usual rate to create a complex, fruity and award-winning spirit.
With barley dried by air and not peated at the all, this 10 Year Old is an easy drinking malt with aromas of fresh green apples, toffee and a hint of nuttiness.
“Beautifully clean...the barley is almost in concentrate form with a marmalade sweetness adding richness. Incredibly long and refined for such as light malt. Proof that to create balance you do not have to have peat at work. The secret is the intensity of the barley intermingling with oak. Not a single negative note from first to last sip and now a touch of oil and coffee has upped the intensity further.”
