seriously good Bordeaux” - 92 Points, Decanter Magazine

'Look out for this' - Neal Martin, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate, October 2016

Chateau Fontesteau is a charming vineyard, producing consistently pleasing claret wines vintage after vintage. The 30 hectares of vineyards at Chateau Fontesteau are grown on a chalk based soil with gravel. The winemaker uses a combination of the most traditional methods whilst still embracing modern technology to get the best from the wine - and they certainly nailed it in this vintage.  2014  has brought us this fabulous Bordeaux form the heart of the Haut-Medoc.  The dominant grape is Cabernet Sauvignon with the perfect balance of Cabernet Franc and Merlot to round off the delicious flavours.

Ripe and warm this wine is exuberant with enticing scent of great classicism. A core of blackcurrant fruit is supported by a polished roasted oak veneer, even some menthol touches. It has the feel of a seriously good Bordeaux, and will open up beautifully with food. “- 92 Points, Decanter Magazine

'The 2014 Fontesteau has a pleasant nose of wild strawberry and raspberry fruit, well defined and focused with an underlying mineralité. The palate is medium-bodied with firm tannin, good backbone but with plenty of fruit to support it. It clams up towards the finish, but I can see this repaying 3-5 years in the cellar. Look out for this. 2018-2028'. - Neal Martin, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate, October 2016
